- MONSTER TAXI
Boogie Makes a Splash - Splash Across the
World!!!! Remixes done by my mentor, DJ Grego from Brazil,
along with DJ Cubanito, Andy Sikorski, DJ Monchi and Playground
Superstars. Mixes range from funk, house, classic disco,
electro, brazilian house and underground French. My buddy
Randy Singer played blues harmonica on the Brazilian mix.
Very excited.
"Boogie Makes a Splash" just
got licensed to Ministry of Sound's Annual 2006. Various
remixes are being done now in Brazil and USA.
Just finished a remix for the Universal
Music Latin artist "Emmanuel". Will keep you posted
on the release date. My friend Alejandra Sedano did the
duet with Emmanuel and the style of music is reminiscent
of Pet Shop Boys and Miami freestyle.
I have been writing songs for various artists,
along with continuing making music under my Monster Taxi
name. Monster Taxi's "Boogie Makes a Splash" will
soon be out on compilations. Co-wrote it with Marco Cocchiaro,
Austin Leeds, and Ben Grassini. My other songs are currently
under Universal Music Publishing's administration. Lots
of co-writes with female singer/lyricists.
I had the honor of producing a latin funky
mix for Shelina called Como Puerdo. Great voice and amazing
dancer. Fun stuff!!!!
December 2004, my publishing company, Beta
Eta Music (BMI) now has an administration deal with Universal
Publishing.
November
2004, Ministry of Sound licensed "Cosmic Love Juice"
- Monster Taxi featuring Pepper Mashay. The compilation
is the Latin and South American edition of "Annual
2005". Released from Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and
other latin countries. There is even a ring tone available
for it.
Don
Manuel's Figaro was given a great review in Billboard
Magazine, July 24, 2004 edition. Click on News
to read this review. During July, Figaro charted on various
national and regional record pools charts. The various Figaro
versions have also been getting radio play on XM Radio,
various dance format stations, and the cable station, DMX
Music (which I get on my Comcast cable service and it also
plays on airplanes). We are also negotiating licensing deals
and pitching it to ad agencies for commercial synchonization.
The
Don Manuel project has been my excitement in the recent
months. Figaro is set to be released in mid May, 2004. We
are releasing 12" vinyl and CD promos. Excellent remixes
were done by Alex Carmenates and Andy Sikorski. Prior to
release, Alex started playing his tribal mix of Figaro is
his club and it has been the number one requested song there.
After Figaro, expect to hear the follow-up track, the opera
Pagliacci.
During
the last month of 2003, my production of Beny More's "Bonito
y Sabroso" made it onto the DVD called "VIP All
Access" and on the BMG CD compilation, "Buena
Musica Garantizada 2003". This production has been
a blessing for my career and I thank Anthony Gonzalez, Olga
Cardona and several others who helped make it happen.
On
September 23, was the BMG release of the compilation "Power
Latin Grooves". It contains three of my tracks, remix
of Alexandre Pires' "Quitemonos La Ropa", Monster
Taxi's Get Off (Dub Mix) and my collaboration with Austin
Leeds on Chaz Hart's "Soho". Chaz Hart is a side
project I did with Austin Leeds, Franklin Socorro and Carl
Cocarro.
Its
September 2003 and I am turning older (32 on September 14th).
My remix of Noelia's "Ya No Eres El Mismo" is
now out as a music video and going into rotation on latin
music TV shows. The video is awesome and very Euro looking.
This remix, along with my Alexandre Pires remix is being
played at various night clubs and can be found on compilations
and on DJ promotional CD's.
As
of August 2003, my current projects include a pop version
of the opera "Barber of Seville (Figaro)" with
tenor opera singer, Don Manuel. Also I'll be finalizing
my disco funk song "Cosmic Love Juice" with Pepper
Mashay. I have some other projects in the works now that
I will disclose to you all later.
Early
August 2003 was the release of the Monster Taxi remix of
Noelia's "Ya No Eres El Mismo". I worked with
DJ Austin Leeds at his studio in Coral Springs, Florida.
This is for Univision. It can be heard on latin radio and
on DJ promotional CD's.
June
17, 2003 will be the release of my production of Get Off
for BMG Records. Get Off was made famous by Miami's own
Foxy back during the disco 70's. I had the honor of working
with two of the original members of Foxy, Ish and Arnold.
The local latin rap duo, IV, provided the raps while dance
diva, Rachel Panay, provided vocals and other ad libs that
would make Donna Summer's "Love to Love You Baby"
seem like a Disney song. With the help of my friend DJ Austin
Leeds, we also recorded house and dub mixes.
On
June 10, 2003 my remix of latin sensation, Alexandre Pires,
hit the radio stations. On an interesting note, I turned
in the project the day before to the label. This is quickest
any of my productions hit the radio after being submitted
to the label. The song is called Quitemonos La Ropa (Monster
Taxi Mix). This track has a funk/disco vibe to it, with
Fernando Perdomo playing funk bass and guitar, while DJ
Austin Leeds provided the stomping beat.
Magic
Sauce's Ave Maria, a trio consisting of myself, Jason Wilkes,
and opera singer Kelly Allocco can now be heard on BMG's
compilation Verano 2003 (release June 17 2003). Versions
of the Ave Maria continue to play around clubs, especially
the DJ Cubanito Crispy Cream Mix.
My
production of Beny More's Bonito y Sabroso is #1 on various
Latin radio stations. A first for me!!!! Also a first for
me, a video has been released. Video has been airing and
charting on latin video shows like Mun2's "The Roof"
and HTV.
Check
out April 4th issue of Billboard Magazine. Michael Paoletta
interviewed me in the dance column, while Leila Cobo reviewed
the Beny More CD in the album review section. Exciting stuff,
with more press to follow.
I
recently worked on 7 productions for BMG Records. The album,
Beny More "The King of Son" was released in USA
on March 18. A video is now in the works and the first single
is getting heavy radio play. I produced adaptations of classic
Cuban singer, Beny More. I had the honor of working with
several local musicians, along with an up-in-coming rapper
called P-Dirty, who is a local Miami Cuban rapper. On one
track, I also got to work with two dance remixers, DJ Cubanito
(Alex Carmenates) and "Oba" Frank Lords of "Dark
Beat and Latin Express".Between
my sessions, I produced dance tracks for gospel singer,
Amy Barbera. We brought the hymn Amazing Grace for pop radio
and clubs. Remixer Andy Sikorski also did a fabulous trance
mix. Wait till you hear my tribal mix.
My
pop remix of Univision's Los Tigres Del Norte hit the airwaves
in South America. They are a well-known Mexican ranchero
band. I used Enos as a guest rapper in this. He recently
had a latin rap hit called "Leche".
My
dance remix of Jim Brickman's "You" was charting
all over the United States during the 4th quarter of 2002.
Jane Krakowski of Ally McBeal did the vocals and she can
sing great.
Keep
checking out the website for further updates.
